Paula es la niña mimada del Santuario
Cuando llegó al Santuario tenía otro nombre, y como hacemos con todos los que llegan, para borrar su pasado y que sea el comienzo de una nueva vida, la bautizamos con otro nombre.
Tiene 15 años y aunque es joven, debido a que sus pulmones están fibrosados, respira con mucha dificultad y recibe un tratamiento diario que se le da cada mañana y cada noche. Estamos teniendo muchos gastos veterinarios con ella debido a las visitas para controlar bien su enfermedad, pero la satisfacción de verla feliz es lo más importante.
Hoy nos ha dado mucha alegría, porque a pesar de que lleva unas semanas bastante peor de su enfermedad, la hemos visto revolcarse en la tierra, frotando su espalda y relinchando muy contenta.
Ojalá pronto encontremos un nuevo sitio donde irnos y así poder acoger a más animales, ya que ahora nos es imposible.

Paula is the Sanctuary’s darling girl
When she arrived at the Sanctuary she had a different name, and as we do with all who arrive, to erase her past and make it the beginning of a new life, she was given a different name.
She is 15 years old, and although she is young, due to her lungs being fibroused, her breathing is very laboured. She is treated daily for this, morning and night. Our veterinary expenses are very high due to all the check ups she needs to control her illness properly, but the biggest reward is the satisfaction of seeing her so happy.
Today she gave us so much happiness. Even though she’s been worse these past few weeks because of her illness, we have seen her wallowing in the soil, rubbing her back, and neighing happily.
Let’s hope we will find a new place to move soon, so that we will be able to take more animals in, as it’s impossible for us to do so now.
