Hoy hemos vivido unos momentos muy emotivos en el Santuario, momentos en los que no hemos podido evitar las lágrimas al ver como actuaba. Nada más entrar al Santuario, su comportamiento era como si hubiera estado toda su vida aquí.
A los pocos minutos de conocer a Victoria, Ismael, uno de sus cuidadores, puso una mano sobre Victoria y otra sobre Lidia, y agachándose les dijo: ¿Verdad que vais a ser amigas? En ese momento ellas dos juntaron sus bocas y seguidamente sus frentes, y desde entonces han estado toda la tarde juntas comiendo. Cuando se han cansado de comer, Victoria le ha enseñad todo el Santuario a Lidia, llevándola al recinto donde duermen las ovejas, donde estaban los cerdos, etc. Y Samuel todo el tiempo detrás de ellas observándolas.
Ya no va a ser explotada nunca más, y en su espalda no tendrá que sentir el peso de ningún humano, sino solamente caricias.
Queremos dar las gracias a Vacaloura, Santuario Animal – castellano por haberla rescatado y cuidado durante todo este tiempo. También a nuestros vecinos y amigos de El Taller del Origen, que han hecho todo el viaje hasta Galicia para traerla al Santuario, todo desinteresadamente.

LIDIA HAS ALREADY ARRIVED AT THE SANCTUARY!!!
Today we’ve lived a very touching moment in the Sanctuary which made us unable to hold the tears back on seeing how she behaved. Since the very first moment she has stepped into the Sanctuary her behavior has been as she’d spent her whole life here.
A few minutes after meeting Victoria, Ismael, one of her carers, put a hand on Victoria and another one on Lidia, and asked them: “Is it true that you’re going to be good friends?” On that precise moment they kept their snouts together followed by their foreheads. They have spent the rest of the afternoon foraging together. When their tummies were full, Victoria has shown Lidia around the Sanctuary: the sheep and pigs enclosures, etc. Samuel the bull calf has joined them, keeping the distances a little bit, the whole time.
Lidia won´t be the victim of abuse anymore, and her back won´t carry the weight of a human any longer. From now onwards she will only feel the tenderness of being stroked on her back.
We’d like to thank Vacaloura, Animal Sanctuary for having rescued and looked after her all this time. Our gratitude also goes to our neighbours and friends from El Taller de Origen, who have generously travelled to Galicia to bring Lidia to the Sanctuary.
