Desde que llegó ayer Lidia no se ha apartado de Victoria en un solo momento, se han hecho tan amigas que se meten las dos juntas en la caseta de Victoria, y que ahora ya es para las dos.
Hoy hemos podido inspeccionarla bien y hemos comprobado que fue marcada a fuego con el número 48, como una esclava. Está tan delgada que se le notan todos los huesos y las costillas. En uno de los cascos tiene una herradura y en los demás solo les quedan los clavos de haberla tenido y que se le habrán caído con el tiempo. También tiene muchas heridas en la piel.
Ya hemos quedado la semana que viene con la veterinaria especialista en equinos y con un herrador para empezar cuanto antes a ayudarle a que tenga una vida digna, pero por desgracia para que esto suceda con todos los animales que hay en el Santuario, es necesaria vuestra colaboración, solo así los podremos ayudar a ellos y a otros que están a la espera de ser rescatados.

Lidia is adapting very well to her new life
Since her arrival yesterday, Lidia has not kept apart from Victoria. They’ve become such good friends that they share Victoria’s hut which now belongs to them both.
Today we’ve been able to carry out a proper check-up on her, just to find out that she was fire-branded with the number 48, as if she was a slave. She’s so thin that her bones and ribs are easily noticed. She only has a horseshoe in one of her hooves, the other three just keep the nails that once held them because the horseshoes may have fallen off with time. She also has many wounds on her skin.
We’ve arranged appointments with an equine specialized vet and a blacksmith for next week. We want to start giving her the care she needs and a dignified life as soon as possible. Unfortunately, with so many animals under our care in the Sanctuary, we need your support, that’s the only way we have to help them all and those who are waiting to be rescued.
