Esta semana han estado ingresada en la clínica Els Altres – Clínica Veterinaria de Barcelona, una gallina y uno de los 5 pavitos que iban a tirar a la basura.
La gallina tiene un infección en una falange, ahora ya está en el Santuario con tratamiento antibiótico esperando a ver como evoluciona, en caso de que no mejore habrá que amputarle ese dedo.
El pavito llegó con una cojera y es por culpa de que uno d elos tendones no estaba colocado en su sitio, así que se ha intervenido y se lo han recolocado. Ahora está en el Santuario recuperándose y esperamos que evolucione favorablemente, pero el pronóstico es reservado, ya que el tendón puede volver a salirse de su sitio.
En el Santuario tratamos a todos como a iguales, y todos merecen las mismas atenciones, sean gallinas, pavos, vacas, perros, gatos o cualquier otra especie. Porque todos queremos vivir, y queremos hacerlo en libertad y en condiciones dignas.

All lives matter
A hen and one of the 5 baby turkeys found in the trash have been in-patients in Els Altres – Clínica Veterinaria in Barcelona during this week.
The hen has an infection in one of her phalanx. She is now back in the Sanctuary and having an antibiotic treatment. We’ll have to wait and see how things go and if it doesn’t get any better it will prove necessary to amputate that finger.
The baby turkey had a limp on his arrival. The reason being that one of the tendons was out of place. He had surgery to put it back in the right place. He’s now recovering back in the Sanctuary. We hope he gets better but his prognosis is reserved because the tendon could reverse to the wrong place.
In the Sanctuary we treat everyone as equal. Them all deserve the same care, wether they are hens, turkeys, cows, cats or any other species. We all want to live and be free.
