Hace unos días nos avisaron que habían decomisado a Tina de una finca en Castellón donde organizaban capeas ilegales con ella, así que esta mañana los fundadores de Santuario Gaia se fueron para salvar su vida y que viva a salvo junto a los demás habitantes del refugio.
Tan solo tiene 7 meses y fue arrebatada de su madre para que los humanos se divirtieran con ella haciéndole daño, en las llamadas capeas de vaquillas. Tiene terror a los humanos y ha costado mucho poderla coger, pero ahora ya está a salvo en el Santuario, que está situado en Camprodon, Girona, en Catalunya, donde están prohibidas las corridas de toros.
Nada más llegar al Santuario parecía que ya sabía dónde venía, porque ha salido tranquila, incluso oliendo las manos de los fundadores. Samuel ya no se aparta del espacio en el que va a estar los primeros días y David, el cabrito, ha pegado un salto y ha entrado con ella y le está haciendo compañía.
Cada vez que viene un habitante nuevo, los que ya llevan tiempo aquí se acercan con mucho cuidado, y nos ayudan a hacerles entender que vienen a un lugar seguro donde van a estar protegidos.

Tina, a victim from bullfighting
A few days ago, we’ve got notice that Tina had been confiscated from a rural estate in Castellón where ilegal bullfights had been taking place. This morning, the founders of Santuario Gaia went to save her life. She will now have a new chance along the other residents of the shelter.
She’s just 7 months old and was taken away from her mother so that humans could be entertained by her suffering in bullfights. She’s terrified of humans and it’s been very hard to catch her, but now she’s safe and sound in the Sanctuary which is located in Camprodo, Girona, Catalonia, where bullfighting is forbidden.
It seems as if she knew where she was coming to because when she has arrived she’s gone out very relaxed, she has even smelled the founders’ hands. Samuel doesn’t get away from the enclosure where she’ll spend her first days here. David the billy kid has jumped to get in with her and is now keeping her company.
Each time a new resident arrives, the ones who have stayed here for a while have a very careful approach to the new arrivals and help us to make them understand that they are in a safe and protected place now.
