Rosita es la oveja más mayor del Santuario y estos días que ha hecho más frío la hemos tenido en una habitación más calentita y con paja abundante para que pueda estar mejor.
Ella fue abandonada porque ya no era rentable para el ganadero. Al no poder quedarse embarazada, ya no podía dar a luz un bebé al que vender para carne, y como no podía tener bebés, pues como ocurre con todas las mamíferas, tampoco podía producir leche que fuera vendida para hacer quesos.
Los animales considerados de granja son explotados y utilizados como recursos que cuando dejan de ser rentables son abandonados, asesinados de cualquier manera o enviados al matadero. Por eso en el Santuario llevamos una vida vegana, en la que no consumimos nada de origen animal. Nuestra alimentación es 100% vegetariana, una alimentación rica y saludable que no contribuye con la explotación de los demás animales.

Rosita is the Sanctuary eldest sheep. The past few days have been very cold and we have kept her in a warmer room with lots of hay for her to be comfortable.
She was abandoned because she wasn’t profitable to the farmer anymore. She could not get pregnant and wouldn’t give birth to a baby who would be sold for meat. As she could not have babies she would not produce milk, as it happens to any other mammal. The lack of milk meant that she was not suitable to be used for cheese production.
Farm animals are exploited and used as resources and once they stop being productive they are either abandoned, murdered or sent to slaughter. Everybody in the Sanctuary is vegan and we don’t take anything animal derived. Our diet is 100% vegetarian, a rich and healthy diet which doesn’t take part in the exploitation of other animals.
