Javi just had his bottle and has gone straight to the dogs bed. He loves sleeping with them.

He was born in a farm. Right after his birth he saw some of his sibblings die, some of them murdered by the farmed with a blow against the floor. It may have also been very hard for him being separated from his mum. She died two days after his birth, two days of agony without veterinary care.

He had his tail cut without anaesthesia. This caused such a big infection that spread to the rest of his body. This is why his joints are so swollen. There are days when he cannot properly lean on them or walk. He’s not out of danger yet, just remember what happened to Geraldine, the little calf we rescued some time ago, she passed away due to an infection, similar to the one that Javi has.

The founders of the Sanctuary spend sleepless nights since Javi’s arrival. He’s living with them so that he can get 100% attention. He behaves like a baby and needs his bottle feed and lots of affection throughout the night.
