La amorosa Helena
Brisa y Helena fueron las primeras ovejas que llegaron al Santuario, unos días antes de ser enviadas al matadero. Al día siguiente de estar a salvo con nosotros, Brisa dio a luz a Diego.
Helena no se dejaba tocar, ni siquiera dejaba que te acercaras a ella más de la cuenta, pero eso cambió cuando vio como cuidábamos a su amiga Brisa, que después del parto estuvo a punto de morir y pasó semanas viviendo dentro de la casa de los fundadores del Santuario.
Cada día los fundadores entraban a Helena dentro de la casa para que viera que su amiga estaba viva, y que lo que estaban haciendo era ayudarla. También tuvieron que cuidar de Diego, al que criaron a biberón.
Con el paso de los días, la mirada de Helena fue cambiando, y con ella su actitud hacia los fundadores del Santuario. Un día sin esperarlo, ella se acercó a ellos curiosa y se dejó acariciar. Desde entonces es una de las más cariñosas del Santuario, tanto que llega a ser algunas veces hasta pesada. Helena es adorable y es la que cuida de todos, siempre alerta y pendiente de su familia, la familia Gaia.

Loving Helena.
Brisa and Helena were the first sheep who came to the Sanctuary just a few days before they were due to be sent to the slaughterhouse. The following day after they were finally safe and sound with us, Brisa gave birth to Diego.
Helena didn’t allow us to touch her or even get too close. However that changed when she saw how we treated her friend Brisa, who was near death after giving birth and had to spend several weeks living in the house of the founders of the Sanctuary.
Every single day, the founders let Helena to get indoors and see that her friend was still alive and that they were helping her to recover. They also had to look after Diego who had to be bottlefed.
As time went by, Helena’s look began to change, so did her attitude towards the founders of the Sanctuary. Unexpectedly, she approached them with lots of curiosity and let them cuddle her. From that day, she became one of the most affectionate residents of the Sanctuary, sometimes even too oversweet. Helena is lovely and the one who looks after the others, always alert and watching after her family, the Gaia family.
